During the meeting, key issues for the industrial sector were discussed, reinforcing the collaboration between the company and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise. The delegation, with the Secretary of State for Trade, the President and CEO of Grupo Correa, visited the facilities at the headquarters in Burgos, underlining the Spanish multinational´s commitment to technology and its leadership in the international market.

Grupo Correa was visited this morning by the Secretary of State for Trade of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, Amparo López Senovilla, who came to its facilities to see first-hand the technological development and innovation of the company, recognised last week with the Plaque of Merit in Foreign Trade 2024, awarded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise.

The Secretary of State was accompanied by a delegation made up of Mª Ángeles Rodríguez Yunta, from the Office of the Secretary of State for Trade; Pedro Luis de la Fuente Fernández, sub-delegate of the Government in Burgos; Laura Piedra Gutiérrez, provincial director of Trade in Burgos; Isabel Clavero Mañueco, territorial director of Trade in Castilla y León; and Esther Peña, national spokesperson for the PSOE, member of Congress and secretary general of the PSOE in Burgos.

Grupo Correa, industrial competitiveness on a global level

The Secretary of State for Trade, Amparo López Senovilla, has highlighted the exporting nature of Burgos, emphasising the importance of leading companies such as Grupo Correa in the Spanish economy and their contribution to industrial competitiveness. "Industry in Castilla y León continues to gain competitiveness in international markets and its companies are committed to entering foreign markets in order to continue growing. This is reflected in the fact that Castilla y León was the autonomous community where exports grew the most last year, with the province of Burgos standing out with record figures".

During the meeting, the main milestones of the company were presented and various topics of interest were discussed, reinforcing the dialogue between the administration and the industrial company. The attendees were also given a tour of Grupo Correa´s facilities, where they were able to see first-hand the technology and innovation applied to the manufacture of its machining centres, a benchmark in the field of industrial machinery both nationally and internationally.

Bibiana Nicolás-Correa, President of the company, and Carmen Pinto, CEO, hosted this institutional meeting. ‘This visit is part of the fruitful relations that we have always maintained with the various ministries and allows the dialogue between public officials and companies to be close and constructive,’ said the president.

Carmen Pinto, CEO and chief executive, stressed that the Correa Group is a world leader in machine tools: ‘we have shared our awareness of the current situation in international markets and we will maintain a direct and fluid relationship to inform the Secretary of State about the specific situation in the countries where we are present’.
