With this award, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise recognises the company´s track record and commitment to internationalisation and its contribution to Spanish foreign trade. By 2024, the Burgos-based multinational had exported 90% of its production to 17 different countries, achieving record turnover and EBITDA figures. Grupo Correa has been awarded the Plaque of Merit in Trade 2024, in the category of Foreign Trade, by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, through the Secretary of State for Trade. This prestigious recognition rewards the company´s track record and commitment to internationalisation and its contribution to Spanish foreign trade.

The Minister of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, Carlos Cuerpo Caballero, presented this prestigious award to Grupo Correa, in recognition of its track record and outstanding contribution to international trade. During the ceremony, the minister underlined the role of these companies in international markets: ‘They are all essential assets in helping to create Marca España. Grupo Correa is undoubtedly a company that, with the level of exports of its production and its international presence, is a benchmark for industrial products outside Spain’. He also stressed the importance of foreign trade in an increasingly uncertain and changing global context, highlighting the strength of the Spanish business fabric: ‘We have a business sector that is capable of entering international markets and becoming increasingly competitive. Thanks to companies, such as those recognised today in these awards, we have managed to maintain our share of world exports in goods and even increase them with respect to our main partners in the European Union, with record financing figures’.

The Plaque for Merit in Foreign Trade 2024 was collected by Bibiana Nicolás-Correa, President of the Group, who expressed her satisfaction for this recognition: ‘This award is the result of the effort, dedication and teamwork of the almost 500 employees who make up Grupo Correa. The exporting vocation, since our foundation in 1947, has always been part of our DNA and continues to permeate each and every one of us’. He also wanted to highlight the key milestones that have led the company to reach historic records in productivity, turnover, profitability and presence: ‘The IPO in 1989, the opening of our new factory, which allowed us to double our assembly capacity, and our expansion into China have been fundamental to the growth of the Nicolás Correa Group. We have managed to develop large machining centres with tailor-made solutions for customers all over the world in such strategic industrial sectors as aeronautics, energy and defence. We are very proud to receive this prestigious award’.

Also present at the ceremony were the group´s management committee and the other members of the board of directors: Carmen Pinto, its CEO, Ana Nicolás-Correa, Rafael Miranda, Alfredo Sáez and Felipe Oriol.
