The UBU will confer an honorary doctorate to our president José Nicolás-Correa for his career and contribution to the economic development of the province of Burgos.
The illustrious cloister of honorary doctors of the University of Burgos will award, at the proposal of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, the degree of honoris causa to José Nicolás-Correa, this being the highest distinction awarded by the academic institution.
This recognition is based not only on the business success of its multinational company dedicated to the manufacture of milling machines and industrial components for the machine tool sector, but also for its contribution to the economic development of the province and for the close relationship it maintains with the academy.
A relationship that extends over time, from the presidency of the Academic Committee of the UBU Social Council, collaboration agreements for student internships, to lectures given to master´s and bachelor´s degree students. In addition to this involvement, he has also participated in research projects and doctoral courses.
It is worth highlighting his commitment to Burgos society, as well as his long and successful business career, which has led his firm to become the only company in Burgos to be listed on the stock exchange.
The investiture ceremony as honorary doctor will take place on 15 April in the UBU Auditorium.
